About Counselling

We all face difficulties in our lives that may cause us to feel stressed, anxious and alone; you may just even feel "down" and be unsure of the reason.  Talking things through with a counsellor can help to relieve painful thoughts and feelings and give you an increased understanding of your situation.

Seeing a counsellor could help you look at what is going on in your life and how to cope with it better, much better.  You can talk about anything that is worrying you, anything at all; a counsellor will listen, offer understanding and will not judge you.

A counsellor may make suggestions to help you to work through any difficulties and to look at the choices open to you.  Counsellors do not normally give advice or tell you what to do.  Just having a chance to talk about things with someone who has no other part in your life can often help.
